With The Raymarine E80, All Your Navigation Needs Are Taken Care Of
It is common knowledge that there are a lot of devices that are here to help us when we sail the seas. Some types of devices are extremely complicated pieces of equipment that can perform a large variety of duties, but which require no less than a sharp mind and a thick manual. On the flipside, there are some that are not complicated in the least, but have less options and functions. With the Raymarine E80, you can get both plenty of options and powerful performance all in one manageable display!
The E80 is in the midst of Raymarine's strongest and most exclusive multi-function displays, as it has the ability to convert at any time into a stand-alone chartplotter, digital fishfinder, radar, or on board video system. The way to do this is very easy: just plug the sensor that each function uses into the display and you're good to go! Now, functions such as the gps chartplotters, which uses GPS satellite sensors with pinpoint precision, are available for your discretion. The fishfinder, which allows for pinpoint scans of the ocean floor using sonar, and the radar, that lets you closely track and monitor every move you make, are also extremely useful functions. You can't fail with the Raymarine E80!
The Raymarine E80 has been specially created to withstand extreme water and sunlight. By using the SIRIUS Weather function, you can make sure none of these dangerous weather conditions happen. You can use a SeaTalk hs connection to communicate with a SR100 Weather Receiver.
You might want to see the information on your display while in the salon or stateroom. This is easily doable, as the E80 is equipped with 4 video input ports for integration with Raymarine marine cameras, CCTV cameras, satellite television receivers, infrared cameras and more. There is an optional remote control keyboard with which you can control the E80 display remotely. You can control your display from anywhere on the vessel where there's another monitor with a remote control keyboard. Each video input can be viewed either full-screen or in a window next to other navigation displays. The E80 contains a VGA video output port in case you want to connect to an alternate monitor or an entertainment system.
You can use functions like radar, chartplotting, and the fishfinder on one or more alternate Raymarine E Series displays using Raymarine's SeaTalkhs network protocol. You don't even need to be near the display, but you can go to another room and still view your functions! The E80 also supports SeaTalk and SeaTalk2/SeaTalkNG protocols for seamless integration with Raymarine instruments and autopilots. Thanks to NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 support, the E80 is easily integrated with 3rd party electronics and electronic engine monitoring. It doesn't get sweeter than this.
An important feature that the Raymarine E80 possesses is PC Integration which lets you utilize the functions from your display on your computer using the RayTech RNS 6.0 software program. You can view and operate 3D charts, radar, and the HD Digital fishfinder right from your PC. PC Integration provides such possibilities as recording and playing back from your HD Digital fishfinder display. No other MFDs can match up to this type of immensely pleasing effectiveness! Anyone who uses this will see immediately how useful and convenient it is.
With the Raymarine E80 kit you'll get some extra stuff like a manual and guide, and the equipment you'll need to setup the display. If you're having trouble getting started, the manual or reference guide can help you out greatly, and your display should be working in no time. The Raymarine E80 is definitely one of the most elaborate and multifaceted marine navigators there are, and once you try it out, it'll leave you with a smile on your face.

And how long will it take me to get there? Included here are the basics of interpreting maps and orienting by compass, as well as more advanced techniques for measuring distances and estimating travel times; determining and adjusting for local declination around the globe; using an altimeter to add the dimension of height to one’s position; and navigation by means of sun and stars. In updating the late W. S. Kals’s text, Clyde Soles focuses on the latest developments in technology and equipment, such as digital mapping software and handheld GPS units, and provides an overview of marine navigation for sea kayakers.
