Super Power: Water Resistance

Diving watches are extremely powerful and complex tools. They were designed to withstand extreme depths and environments. A true diving watch, and I say true because there are a lot of imitations out there, must be able to be water resistant to a minimum depth of 100 meters. Most diving watches will exceed this standard and some can be submersed to extreme depths.

Super Power: Scratch Resistance

For those of us who are more inclined to the clumsy side of life or who are hard on their watches, you can rest assured that true diving watches will have a scratch resistant crystal to ensure minimum damage.

Super Power: Night Illumination

Diving watches were designed, to be used in circumstance that have little or no natural light. As a result, most diving watches will have easy to read dials and be illuminated in dark situations.

Super Power: Rotating Bezel

As a diver it is critical to know how much time has elapsed so you can effectively measure how much oxygen is left in your tank. More active scuba divers will use a diving computer to assist in calculating depth/pressure/time. However, a diving watch is a good backup to have.

Super Power: Helium Release Valve

I know this sound more like an effective defense strategy but it is in fact a very handy feature of a diving watch. Not all diving watches will have this feature, but some are fitted with helium and this valve can be used to relieve some of the pressure a diving watch experiences at deeper depths.

As you can see, your diving watch will give you the super powers you have always wanted. There are hundreds of different types of diving watches available. The only limitation is your preferences and budget.
